Course FAQ


What do I need to be able to take part in the course?
A computer with a stable internet connection and a modern browser.

When can you enrol for a course?
You can enrol in a course up to and including the week before it begins.

What sort of activities do the courses have?
There are live and recorded presentations, live Q&A sessions, hands on self-paced workshops using virtual machines, as well as quizzes and discussion forums.

What kind of support do students receive?
Support is provided throughout the course in a number of ways, including:

  • Live presentations with a subject matter expert.
  • Live Q&A sessions.
  • Emails to your available instructor.
  • Questions on the course forum pages.
  • 1-on-1 Virtual Machine support can be provided

When is support available?
Support is currently available during Australian business hours. All support tickets will receive a reply within one business day or sooner.

There is a course I want to join but it has no start date. How do I know when it will run next?
Sign up to our mailing list and we will keep you informed when the course will run next.

How long does each course run?
Each course typically runs for 6 weeks.

How much time will I need each week to complete the course?
Depending on your skills and experience, you will need 6 to 12 hours a week to complete the course activities.

What is required to complete the course?
To complete the course, all quizzes must be completed and passed.

What is required for a completion certificate?
To receive a completion certificate your course attendance will be taken in to account. That includes class attendance, participation in forums and Q&As, as well as time spent in Labs. (Note: Labs are not assessed.)

How long will I have access to the course material after the course has finished?
You will have access to the course material for two weeks after the course ends.

How long do I have to take the optional certification exam?
You have one month to take the exam after the course ends.

How long do I have to complete the final exam?
90 minutes.

What format is the exam?
The exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions.

What do I need to take the exam?
To take the exam you will need a computer with a good internet connection, photo id, and a quiet space with no distractions or other people. A review of the course content is recommended before you take the exam.

How many questions do I need to get right in order to be awarded a certificate?
The pass mark is subject to change over time but it is approximately 70%.

What happens if I can’t complete the course for medical or personal reasons?
Extensions and/or future course credits will be considered on a case by case basis.

How long is a course extension?
Course extensions are set to an additional two weeks.

Can I withdraw from a course? Is a refund available?
You may withdraw from a course at any time. A full refund is only available to those who withdraw within the first week of their course.
